W.O.M.A.N., Inc. seeks to end domestic violence. Based out of San Francisco, California, W.O.M.A.N., Inc. provides education, advocacy and counseling on a mutual support and self-help basis. At the Support Line, advocates provide crisis intervention, peer counseling, and emergency referrals 24 hours a day. Various support groups are offered for women who have suffered any form of abuse. Also, on-going individual and family therapy are available. Finally, W.O.M.A.N., Inc. conducts various community education and engagement programs. All services are provided in Spanish and English.

The goals of W.O.M.A.N., Inc. are to end abuse and assist battered women in regaining control of their lives.

Results / Accomplishments

The crisis line at W.O.M.A.N., Inc. receives over 18,000 calls each year, a significant increase from only 25-30 calls per month in 1979.
