Health Equity Alliance
Our purpose is to collaborate across sectors, dismantle systemic barriers, and prioritize prevention strategies, to address social determinants of health and achieve health equity for all.
In 2023, the Health Equity Alliance has:
Established an alliance of 31 members and conducted 9 data-driven meetings to address health disparities in Greenwood
Initiated a Health Equity Community Survey to gather crucial insights (380 responses)
Collaborated with partners, including Self-Regionals Health Equity Task Force and Collaborative Health Communities for community-level information exchange and action to impact maternal health outcomes
Trained 18 community members on listening session facilitation and initiated 4 maternal health listening sessions to elevate the voices of potential, current, or past pregnant black and Hispanic women that will inform collective strategies
Advocated for a centralized referral platform called Unite Us (34 organizations)
Secured leadership positions for the alliance
Hosted a community wide "Building an Inclusive Community" training focused on Unconscious Biases
Began planning for a "Neighborhood Narratives" story telling platform
